REFIT is a programme of the European Commission that concerns the simplification and modernization of laws and stands for “Programme of monitoring the adequacy and effectiveness of regulation”.
It is an integral part of the Better Regulation – Better Regulation initiative, aimed at improving EU legislation through periodic review operations and strategic forecasting based on concrete data, as well as on the new “one-in-one-out” approach to reduce administrative costs.
The Emilia-Romagna Region has a proactive and relevant role in simplifying both European legislation through participation in the RegHub Network, both regional through regular thinning and revision of legislation that allowed the repeal from 2013 to 2022 (including) 342 regional laws, 10 regional regulations and 148 regulatory provisions.
